Arborist Insights
Resources to help you understand your trees and what they need. While signs of concern are often clear, the next step isn’t always. Our arborists share insights on tree health, pruning, and responsible care so you can make informed decisions for the long-term health and safety of your landscape.
Cedar Air Spade Project
A mature cedar showing signs of decline, crown dieback, and drought stress was found to be suffering from severe soil compaction and root zone restrictions caused by landscape fabric. Our Plant Health Care team performed an air spade root zone restoration, incorporated biochar and soil amendments, and applied arborist wood chips to improve soil conditions and support long-term tree health.
Outcome- Removed root zone restrictions, improved soil aeration, increased water infiltration, and created conditions for improved root growth and long-term tree vigor.
